Who she is: Jillian is a licensed clinical psychotherapist who works with individuals living in both Illinois and California. She strives to create a consistent, casual and comfortable therapy space for those she works with. Within that space, she practices an integrative theoretical approach, carefully selecting techniques that fit each client’s set of personal needs. Jillian’s therapeutic relationship is one that exists within a non-judgmental space where she provides a genuine, empathic, and intuitive presence.
Who she works with: Jillian has a history in working with client’s who have experienced various forms of trauma. She is committed to helping individuals overcome their past, work through the challenges of the present and live a fulfilling life.
What to expect in therapy: Jillian draws upon insight-oriented and psychodynamic theories to help navigate through a client’s history, their present-day patterns and future goals. This explorative journey allows them to discover internal processes, and develop understanding around lifelong patterns and experiences.
Jillian often utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques when appropriate, particularly when examining and identifying unhelpful cognitive patterns and behavioral impulses. She also practices various treatment methods including EMDR and trauma-focused CBT. Jillian also implements Didactical Behavioral Therapy training into her work, as she strives to allows space for people to build skills in distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
